Audiologist in Portage, MI
For me practicing audiology is a passion more than career. In my youth, I had a speech impediment that required the expertise of a speech pathologist. She not only helped me overcome my challenges but also became a dear friend and mentor. Her encouragement led me to pursue a career in the communication sciences. When I entered my university’s speech and hearing college, I was immediately drawn to the hearing sensory system. The way our ability to hear connects us to each other and the world around us fascinated me.
Choosing this career allowed me to reflect on my childhood trials and use those experiences to help my patients re-establish their ability to communicate through better hearing. I believe that the trials we endure in life offer us the opportunity to learn, grow, and become who we are meant to be. For me, practicing audiology has allowed me to do just that. I am most obsessed with my husband, our children, and all our adventures together. They are my greatest joy and the center of my world. For fun, I cherish those rare moments when I can slow down and relax. I love being outside, taking walks, reading, and watching live music. These activities bring me peace and happiness.
